Jerpoint Abbey
Jerpoint Abbey is a 12th century monastic ruin which is only a 5 minute drive from Mount Juliet. The ruins of this Cistercian abbey with a magnificently sculptured cloister arcade, plus a visitor and exhibition centre.
Jerpoint Park
Jerpoint park is located within a 5 minute drive from Mount Juliet. The Park includes the Lost Town of Newtown Jerpoint,
a deserted Medieval town which dates back to 1200AD. Jerpoint Park contains the standing remains of St. Nicholas's Church plus a 14th Century Medieval
Tomb effigy, popularly associated with St. Nicholas.
Jerpoint Glass
Jerpoint Glass is located opposite the Mount Juliet Golf Course entrance. Jerpoint Glass is a nationally renowned Jerpoint Glass Studio, and is
housed in an old stone-walled farm building where you can watch workers craft molten glass into exquisite artistic and practical items.
Kilkenny Castle
Kilkenny Castle is located within a 20 minute drive from Mount Juliet and is a world famous 12th Century castle. Kilkenny Castle
later became the principal Irish residence for the powerful Butler family for almost 600 years and has been restored and set in 1830s splendour. The
castle grounds include extensive parklands, an art gallery, bookshop, cafe and playground.
Waterford Crystal
Waterford is located within a 30 minute drive from Mount Juliet on the new M9 Motorway. The House of Waterford Crystal is located on the Mall in Waterford City.
Experience a Factory Tour and see how the world famous Waterford Crystal is manufactured, and see the skills of the craftsmen as pieces are blown and cut before your eyes.
