Mount Juliet Equestrian Centre
Official Launch, 21st June 2008

The Mount Juliet Equestrian Centre, which cost €3.5 million, was officially opened by Irish horseracing and TV personality, Tracy Piggott, at an exclusive event on Saturday, 21st June 2008. Featuring an Olympic-sized dressage arena and 18 miles of professionally planned bridleways, the Mount Juliet Equestrian Centre is one of the most impressive in Ireland.

Despite the damp conditions the event was very well attended with hot food and drink helping to warm up those who braved the intermittent rain in order to view the exhibitions. The entertainment on the day included unforgettable exhibitions and activities ranging from a classical side-saddle demonstration to an inspirational freestyle dressage performance, a Ukrainian Cossack Show and Pony Club demonstrations.

William Kirby, General Manager, Mount Juliet, says: "We now have a world class equestrian facility, which demonstrates our ongoing commitment to offering guests the best possible experience in all types of riding."

TV and horse racing personality Tracy Piggott says: "I am delighted to officially launch the Mount Juliet Equestrian Centre. Kilkenny is renowned for its equine history and the new centre will contribute further to developing the sport in the region. Having sampled some of the excellent bridleways on offer, I'm looking forward to returning to the Mount Juliet in the very near future".

The new centre boasts two impressive arenas, an American style barn, an exhilarating cross-country course, state-of-the-art show-jumps and a new stock of ponies and horses. In addition to this, the arenas are designed with advanced riding surfaces for improved performance, using the highest grade 'cushion track premier surface', similar to that used in international competition arenas.
