The Mount Juliet Gala Masked Ball
- Thousand's of Euros Raised for the Children's Ward at the Friends of St Luke's Hospital, Co. Kilkenny -

On Saturday the 25th of October 2008 the Mount Juliet celebrated its first Black Tie Gala Masked Ball in association with Swarovski. The event, in aid of the Friends of St Luke's Hospital, children's ward, Co Kilkenny, was a massive success raising thousands and was a night to remember for those in attendance.

The luxurious surroundings of the Mount Juliet House, illuminated by beautiful shimmering lights and burning fires, provided a magical venue as guests were presented with ornate masks to wear for the evening. Adding a touch of sparkle to the event, Swarovski provided a unique selection of fine jewellery for ladies to wear on the night.

After a welcome champagne reception to the sound of live jazz, guests enjoyed dinner in the 2AA Rosette Awarded Lady Helen restaurant, with a seasonal menu prepared by the executive chef Anthony Duggan. After dinner, guests really got into the party spirit and let their hair down, dancing the night away to the music performed by the 'Legends of Swing'. Those in attendance on the night included Kilkenny hurling stars Richard Mullally and Noel Hickey and their wives Claire and Elaine, as well as Irish 'Apprentice' star Sarah Cowley.

The charity auction was a huge success, creating real excitement amongst the guests whilst raising thousands of euros for the charity. Items auctioned included a hurl signed by the All-Ireland winning Kilkenny Hurling team, weekend breaks, and an exclusive piece from the Swarovski collection.
