Mount Juliet Estate is delighted to welcome the Blackwater Valley Opera Festival back this May for a special open-air recital set within the estate’s grounds.
This intimate performance will feature tenor Cathal McCabe, recipient of the 2026 Bríd Phelan Emerging Talent Award, alongside soprano Eva Kavanagh with pianist Connor Wilcox – offering a rare opportunity to experience rising Irish voices at a defining stage in their careers.

Supporting Emerging Talent
Mount Juliet Estate continues its support of the arts in collaboration with Blackwater Valley Opera Festival, presenting a performance by the 2026 recipient of the Bríd Phelan Emerging Talent Award. This event brings a rising Irish artist into a setting that places the performance at close range, offering audiences the opportunity to hear a developing voice at a defining stage.
The Bríd Phelan Emerging Talent Award is a five-year bursary supporting the next generation of Irish opera singers. Funded by an anonymous donor, with additional support from Kildare Village, it forms part of Blackwater Valley Opera Festival’s ongoing work to support Irish singers at an early stage of their careers.
