Mount Juliet Estate sponsors Thomastown Horse Show
Thomastown Horse Show is one of the longest established horse shows in Ireland, and celebrated it’s 70th Anniversary in 2016. The 2017 Thomastown Horse Show will be held on Sunday 30th April and Thomastown is one of the few remaining grass shows surviving in the country.
Show Jumping classes will be held over 3 jumping arena’s and attracting over 250 competitors (387 entries). In 2016 the show was privileged to have 8 of the top 10 ranking riders in Ireland in attendance, one of which went on to win gold medal at the world Breeding Jumping Championships at Lanaken in Belgium in 2016.
Mount Juliet Estate are proud to sponsor the main class of the day , "The National Grand Prix". Horses will jump a course of 16 fences up to 1.40 mts high and always provides a trilling final round with competitors competing for a prize fund of €5,000. This class is normally televised by Euro Sport Channel and can also be seen online at www.irishsport.tv.
Horse show classes are also run on Sunday with over 300 competitors attending last year.
Show classes include a host of regional qualifiers, The Roscommon Irish Draught Yearling filly championship,The Bannow & Rathangan Show, and The Kildysart Two-Year-Old Filly All Ireland Championship to name but a few.
